I would like counselling for alcohol
Alcohol is a depressant and alters the chemicals in the brain. This can impact brain function causing problems with decision making, problem solving, concentration, attention and memory. This can influence how you think, how you feel, your mood, and how you behave. Alcohol can have a significant impact on you and can cause anxiety or make it worse and the same with depression and other mental health conditions.
Counselling and psychotherapy can sometimes be an effective method to overcome problems with alcohol and alcohol dependency. The focus on treatment is generally aimed at supporting you to overcome urges and learn coping techniques and skills to deal with addiction or problem drinking. It offers a space where you can safely explore the source behaviours and supports you to reach self-awareness that assists you with recovery or a change in how you drink.
